Returning to Alignment: A Gentle Journey Back to Self

There are seasons in life where we feel connected, centred, and purposeful—where our thoughts, words, and actions are in harmony with our deepest values.

And then… there are the other seasons.

The ones where life gets chaotic.

Where you feel like you’ve slowly drifted off course, without even realising.

Where your own wellbeing slips to the bottom of the list—and the practices that once grounded you become distant memories.

I’ve been in that season lately.

What surprised me most wasn’t that I lost rhythm with myself—it was how long it’s taken to begin to feel balanced again.

And yet… here is what I’m learning:

Living in alignment doesn’t mean always having it all together.

It means becoming aware when you have drifted—and finding the courage to acknowledge that and to gently return.

What Is “Living in Alignment”?

Person practicing living in alignment

At its heart, alignment means that what we think, feel, say, and do are in resonance with who we truly are. Our head, heart, and hands are working together in harmony.

Heart (Intention): What do I deeply value? What matters to me?

Head (Awareness): Are my thoughts supporting or sabotaging my peace?

Hand (Action): Are my actions aligned with what I say I want?

When these parts of us are in sync, we feel grounded and whole.

When they are not, we can feel scattered, confused, or stuck.

When We Drift...

I noticed that I began letting things slide gradually—less movement, fewer mindful moments, skipping practices that once nourished me. And as these things fell away, I felt more disconnected from myself.

It crept in quietly, as it often does.

But I also know this truth deep in my bones:

You can return to yourself at any moment.

And that return doesn’t have to be dramatic or grand.

It can be one breath.

One journal entry.

One walk in nature.

One nourishing meal prepared with love.

 Rebuilding Alignment Gently

Here are some ways I’ve been easing back into rhythm:

  1. Honest Self-Check-Ins

Asking simple, loving questions:

How am I feeling?

What do I need today?

What can I do with love?

  1. Mini Rituals to Anchor the Day

Lighting a candle with intention.

A 10-minute stretch.

A moment of gratitude before bed.

  1. Compassionate Awareness

Noticing the inner critic… and choosing kindness instead.

  1. Tiny Consistent Steps

Rather than all-or-nothing, I’m focusing on what is doable.

A walk. A pause. A breath. A nourishing meal.

These simple practices help bring me back into alignment, slowly, softly.

 An Invitation

If you’ve felt off-track, you’re not alone.

Let’s remember: alignment isn’t a destination. It’s a daily dance.

It’s okay to start small. It’s okay to return again and again.

You are not behind—you are becoming.

Living in alignment concept

You Are Not The Storm… You Are The Sky

The storm rages—
emotions whirl,
thoughts thunder,
the world demands.

But you, dear soul,
are not the noise.
You are the stillness it dances within.

You are not the fear, the doubt, the striving—
You are the space holding it all with quiet grace.

You are the sky.
Endless. Expansive. Unmoved.

To live in alignment is to remember this truth:
Not to escape the storm,
but to be the one who watches it pass,
without forgetting the peace that you are.

From this place,
actions arise from love,
words flow with clarity,
life becomes devotion.

Return here, again and again,
until your home is not a place
but a state of being.

A little poem by me.

Here’s to finding our way home, one step at a time.

With love,

Corinne
